At Liquid Media Hub, our expert team has more than 50 years’ experience of providing post production and media content services that are tailored to your precise needs.
We provide a full end-to-end service incorporating content ingestion, digitisation and restoration, compliance and quality control, hosting and media asset management (MAM), transcoding, and final file delivery.
Whether you require video digitisation, content ingest or video restoration, we'll take your media content and prepare it for use in the most appropriate format for your needs. We can help you with archive preservation, content monetisation, mastering, and quality control and compliance.
Digitising your media library can protect your legacy-format content from degradation, reduce your storage costs, and enable you to monetise archive footage.
Liquid Media Hub has designed a solution that will index, preserve, restore and enable your content for monetisation. We like to call this solution LMH Protect. It allows your legacy-format content to enter the file-based age, protecting it for future use, and giving you the option to re-purpose it for monetisation.
We can fully support the digitisation of a wide range of formats, including Sony Digibeta, D1, D2, D3, D5, 1”, 2”, DVCam, U-matic and many others. We undertake restoration work – baking and cleaning – to prepare degraded or damaged tape for digitisation, and use specialist tools to enhance the video and audio quality of your digitised files, preserving it for the future.
From single-channel ingest to large-scale digitisation via multi-deck cart robots, we are able to provide scalable ingest solutions, as part of an archive preservation project or a monetisation project.
For file-based workflows, we support file-based acquisition from your content providers, via direct point-to-point transfer, or any web-based accelerated platforms.
Even the service we provide is fully scalable, whether you need a single-channel, fixed-format solution, or a full end-to-end consultative service incorporating format choice, QC ethos and delivery method.
If your library or archive cannot be transported we at Liquid Media Hub have the expertise and resources to build a stand-alone or pop-up solution on your site. LMH will work with you to make sure that the solution has the workflows, management and staffing to meet your requirements.
Managing and delivering your assets is not simply about ensuring your finished video content gets to the right place in the right format at the right time.
Broadcasters, VOD platforms and OTT providers require all accompanying assets – such as technical metadata, descriptive metadata like episode synopses, and subtitles – to be correctly associated with the video files you are submitting. Similarly for archiving purposes, this information needs to be correctly linked to the correct content.
We can help design an automated schema transformation that correctly sorts and catalogues your metadata and associated assets to meet the prescribed requirements of platforms such a Netflix, Amazon and others.
Our expert team at Liquid Media Hub has many years’ experience of ensuring that this required metadata is accurately associated with your video files, to ensure that you meet the requirements of your clients when delivering your files, and to maintain a complete and accurate archive for you.
We are able to collect and prepare the myriad digital assets that come with your busy international productions, sanitising your metadata, artwork, logos and bumpers, and storing your high and low resolution assets.
As part of your content preparation for its end use we can offer all types of standards conversion and all the remedial processes that are necessary to support this workflow.
Our three studios provide Craft editing on various NLE platforms. All types of workflow are supported including platform packaging, reversioning and conforming.
Audio suites support Protools for editorial, mixing and layback services.
A full DPP workflow is supported.
This includes fully automated R128 audio correction, Assisted QC via Vidchecker, PSE QC and correction editing and Metadata services.
Similarly for downstream content distribution an IMF package preparation service will provide storage savings and high efficiencies in your workflow.
Standards conversion lies at the heart of your international workflow and file delivery. Creating master files with the correct scan rate and frame rate for a particular region is key to successfully delivering your content to international markets.
Using highly advanced software and hardware solutions, Liquid Media Hub can carry out almost any standards conversion project from UHD/4K HDR content down to HD and SD formats.
We can convert all scan and resolution types and all frame rates from 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30 fps to high frame rates of 50, 59.94 and 60 fps.
We carry out format-agnostic, file-based standards conversion using the state-of-the-art Alchemist XF conversion software, developed by Snell Advanced Media. The Alchemist XF is specifically designed for file-based workflows and is the world’s leading frame rate conversion software. It is comfortable handling even the most challenging of files – from ultra-high definition 4K content to low frame rate files.
For base band and Video Tape legacy support we use the Alchemist Ph.C-HD, which has long set the standard in frame rate conversion. With the XF being a file-based progression of the Ph.C-HD, both Alchemist solutions guarantee the highest quality standards conversion.
But the quality of our standards conversion service is not just about the software we use. It is also about the experience and expertise of our skilled team. Our depth of knowledge and familiarity with these standards conversion technologies mean that we know how to correctly configure your file conversion to ensure that the output file exactly meets your precise requirements – and those of your clients.
Liquid Media Hub can offer standards conversion as an ongoing service for projects such as multi-episode file preparation. Or we can undertake conversion work as part of a broader mastering project or file delivery service, supporting your regional and international workflows.
LMH can incorporate any transcoding services you require in tandem with the scan rate and frame rate conversions you need for your various delivery points. And we can help you remedy problematic files, such as different frame rates having been used in the same multi-camera shoot.
Our quality control service can be tailored specifically to your needs and those of your end-user, supporting 4K/UHD, HD and SD. LMH will work with you to establish an appropriate QC ethos – be that 100% full QC in our purpose built 7.1 suites, or our DPP-compliant quality control service. We also support Harding PSE testing and certification for photosensitive epilepsy, assisted file-based QC, EBU R128 loudness testing, and full real-time manual three-point and five-point quality assurance reporting from both tape-based and file-based assets.
LMH can provide solutions to remedy any issues that may arise from a QC rejection and will support mandatory QC-tailored reports that are stipulated by both broadcasters and VOD platforms such as Netflix.
Our years of expertise in QC processing mean LMH is well placed to work collaboratively with not just the content owner, but also the recipient and other interested parties to ensure a smooth delivery process.
At Liquid Media Hub, we believe in offering a bespoke file-based ‘assisted’ quality control service. We know from our combined years of experience that automated QC alone rarely guarantees the client a satisfactory outcome, often leaving you with large PDF reports and unanswered questions about the quality of your content.
So, while we utilise Vidchecker, a software-based platform, to quickly and cost-effectively flag up potential QC issues, we always ensure that your content is run past our expert eyes. And we work in collaboration with you and the content creator to make sure we identify the best solution to any problems.
Our content services facility boasts three purpose-built studios for editing, post production and quality control. LMH has invested in the latest 4K/UHD infrastructure in our edit suites, to ensure we are equipped to help you respond seamlessly to the growing demand for delivery in these formats.
Liquid Media Hub is a proud member of the Digital Production Partnership (DPP), the broadcast industry body that is responsible for establishing standardised file delivery specifications. Our expert team boasts a vast array of experience in preparing and delivering DPP-compliant files. We are a member of FACT, and are ITV GE and BBC Worldwide approved, so you can rest assured that your content is in safe hands.
Ensuring your content meets the regulatory requirements of the country – or countries – where you are delivering it is a key consideration of programme sales and distribution.
At Liquid Media Hub, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in international programme distribution and the compliance issues that you will need to address when preparing content for delivery. We are able to call upon the services of highly experienced compliance officers who are well-versed not only in OFCOM regulations for UK delivery but in local compliance regulations for overseas delivery as well.
Using the EDL that the compliance officer produces to highlight any areas of concern, we can work with you to resolve any issues that might cause you to fail compliance tests. We can provide editing services or can collaborate with your in-house editors to help you fix problems with your content.
We can also apply the output from the compliance process to your library as your territory master mezzanine. We can then produce all your subsequent deliverables to comply with the technical package specifications of each end-point – such as the DPP package for UK broadcast.

With so many delivery formats, transcoding – converting files to the required destination format – is a vital part of a media services workflow.
Whether you are delivering to traditional broadcast, video on demand (VOD) providers such as Amazon and Netflix or OTT content providers, we can help you – regardless of whether your content is in SD, HD, UHD/4K or IMF (international mastering format).
Our vastly experienced team are perfectly placed to correctly design and specify the transcoding, as well as choosing the right product for the specific task.
At Liquid Media Hub, we have both the staff expertise and solutions in-house to ensure that your content is prepared in the precise format needed for delivery. We offer a number of industry-leading transcoding solutions, including Dalet Amberfin ICR, Rhozet, Digital Rapids and Content Agent with full WFS manager. This is configured as a farm, meaning video resolution can be easily scaled up and down as required.
We can add subtitling, effects, logo burns and watermarking filters to the destination file at this step of the decode/encode process.
Our transcoding solutions support a full DPP-compliant AS-110P1A AMWA workflow, including fully automated XML-based audio manipulation using Minnetonka Audio’s Audio Tools Server system. And we offer assisted QC using VidCheck, photosensitive epilepsy (PSE) QC and correction, editing and metadata services.
We offer an IMF package preparation service for downstream content distribution – providing you with storage cost-savings and high efficiencies in your workflow.
Our expert team can point to years of working closely with subtitling and access service companies to ensure that all elements for a delivery are ready at the same time and associated correctly.
From traditional ‘888’ subtitling, closed captioning for VOD files and multi-language deliverables, Liquid Media Hub is able to help you meet your clients’ requirements.
We provide a subtitle workflow that includes translation, creation, QC, conform, geometry positioning and outputting as a sidecar file or burning into all platforms and media including VOD, DVD and Blu-ray.
Metadata forms an important part of your asset workflow, providing important technical information about your media content.
Metadata also allows you to add value to your asset by including editorial metadata. Many platforms require this editorial information as standard when you deliver your content.
We are able to include customisable metadata fields, allowing you to enrich your content with descriptive metadata such as episode synopses.
We can work with you to recommend a suitable metadata hierarchy, and can help you ensure your final delivery is DPP-compliant. And we can ensure that all relevant legacy or analogue metadata is preserved and stored alongside your digitised content.
All metadata is hosted alongside the relevant media asset in our secure storage platform, meaning that is easy to access, extract, process and package the metadata alongside any asset, ready for final delivery in the precise format that each delivery platform requires – today and in the future.
Cloud-based solutions offer you great flexibility for managing your assets. As well as being an efficient conduit for broadcast, VOD and OTT file delivery, cloud-based solutions allow you to easily access your file archive remotely from any location, while ensuring that your content is securely stored. A cloud-based LTO archive will enable you to upload your files via the cloud, storing them on cost-effective tape whilst always remaining accessible to you via a web-based application.
Our experienced team can work in partnership with you to identify and implement any cloud-based solutions that you or your clients may require, either for file delivery or for archiving. Utilising our asset hosting and metadata expertise, you can be assured that your library will be archived in a manner tailored to your specific needs, with appropriate file encryption and security measures to protect your assets.
We run an Aspera accelerated point-to-point file delivery system. Via this, we can interface with your or your client’s web- and cloud-based file hosting systems either for directly importing files from your library to our servers, or for delivering assets to their various end-points.
Our systems offer encryption in flight or at rest, so you can be sure that your content is secure at all times.
